ESL classes start the week of September 5th.

September: Week of September 11th

Students use simple and compound sentences

to write a short essay about themselves

to write and explain what they like to do and why

with the support of the student created posters, an essay chart, and sentence/paragraph frames.

Students review the essay chart to identify the parts of the essay.

September: Week of September 5th

Students use nouns, verbs, and adjectives in simple and compound sentences

to tell interesting facts about themselves,

to describe themselves

to explain what they like to do and why

to write about themselves

with the support of student-created posters/All About Me Poster

Students work and create All About Me poster and use it to practice speaking and writing as they share information about themselves!

Students take the ACCESS Test

January 2023

to discuss and explain how to take the ACCESS test

with the support of test visuals, group discussions, individual test practice sessions 


to write a narrative about the animal of their choice

with the support of student created Google slides posted, Narrative Elements chart, Shared writing experiences, sentence frames posted in Google classroom


November- December 2022

Students use content related words on the topic of animal adaptations and defense mechanisms in simple sentences and compound sentences  

with the support of vocabulary work activities, main idea supporting details graphic organizer, nonfiction text features foldable, shared writing experiences, Restate, Answer, Cite Evidence, Explain-RACE strategy.

Welcome to 2022-2023 School Year!

ESL teachers are currently working on identifying current and potential English Language Learners.

New students who show a need  for Language Support services will receive the services.

The start of the ESL classes has not been determined.
