The business world is replete with theories and models of leadership, both personal and organizational leadership. Like the resources in the Educational Theory competency, Leadership theories are identified by name (often of the author) but also by focus (e.g., leading change or leading in academics). Because these theories generally come from outside the health professions, we encourage you to look around for other leadership theories that may be appropriate for your EPA.

Every day we make choices – nudge theory allows us to better understand how and why we make choices (and how we can improve our decisions). During this session, we will review some basic concepts of behavioral economics as they relate to decision making in the educational environment and discuss ways to leverage our tendencies to promote behavioral change and improve learning.
