Why am I interested in neuroscience?
I found my way to neuroscience through my initial interest in psychology and philosophy. It has always fascinated me how the brain works to give life to who we are as a species and as individuals. I usually explain my interest as being that of understanding consciousness, how we perceive life on a day to day basis, and then on a not so day to day basis. I am interested in learning about what drives people to live. Obtaining a phenomenological understanding of what it means to be motivated and inspired -- to truly be "alive". Some people are driven by addiction, or religion, or love, a desire to be remembered, or any number of things. I want to understand the experience, and the science, behind all of them, philosophically, neurologically, and personally.
