Event Planning

The Science and Justice Research Center hosts various types of events catering to multiple programs and initiatives. 

The below sections describe how to organize and conceptualize both informal gatherings and formal events. Attached brainstorming sheets and checklists will help in your planning.

Please note: Center funds cannot be provided for traveler expenses to/from the following states: Alabama,  Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana, N. Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, S. Carolina, S. Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and West Virginia. Currently, these states have active discriminatory laws and have been placed on the State of California's Travel Ban (AB 1887) - therefore state funds cannot be used. Visit the website of the CA Office of the Attorney General for additional information about this law. Review the AB 1887 FAQ should you have any specific questions about how it impacts travel at UCSC.
