Effective communication is an important tool to allow us to engage students, staff, parents and all stakeholders in support of student achievement. Tri-Valley School District uses the SchoolMessenger notification system to send out important updates and messages to our families, including alerts regarding school closures, safety information, events, attendance, and general information.
SchoolMessenger works using the information and settings you select in your PowerSchool Parent Portal account (i.e. contact information, preferences on what messages you would like to receive from the district, etc.)
TEXT MESSAGE NOTIFICATIONS
SchoolMessenger allows us to send text notifications regarding school closures, delays and emergencies. Text notifications will always be in addition to the email and phone call you traditionally receive during these situations. In order to receive text notifications from TVSD, you will need to opt in.
Opt-in at any time by texting "Y" to 67587
Opt-out at any time by texting "STOP" to 67587
PLEASE NOTE: In order to opt-in to receive text message notifications from Tri-Valley School District, your phone number must be listed in PowerSchool.
VOICE BROADCAST OPT OUT FEATURE:
Next time you receive an automated message, simply press “5” on your keypad at any time during the message to hear options on how to unsubscribe your phone out of future voice messages.
What You Need to Know:
Opt-Out Requests: If you choose to opt out, please be aware that it may take some time for your request to be processed. If you don’t notice a change right away, we ask that you kindly submit the request again, and we will address it as soon as possible.
Request Applies to One Number: Opt-out requests apply to the phone number you submit, so if you have multiple contact numbers, please submit a request for each one if needed.
Voice Broadcast Only: This opt-out feature only affects voice broadcast messages. You will continue to receive SMS Texts and Emails as usual. Important note: Some school messages are sent via voice broadcast only. You may miss important information by opting out.
Re-enrollment: If you change your mind and would like to opt back into phone calls, or if you believe your number was mistakenly opted out, please contact your child’s school office directly or email techsupport@tvdawgs.net, and they will be happy to assist you.
If you have any questions or need assistance with opting in or out, please email poweraccount@tvdawgs.net.
Thank you for your continued support!
