Mission Statement

The mission of the Tri‐Valley School District, in active partnership with families and community, is to provide a positive, challenging educational environment to enable and empower all students to develop the knowledge, self‐confidence, attitudes and skills necessary as the foundation for life‐long learning and responsible citizenship commensurate with their unique talents and abilities.

Educational Community

The Tri‐Valley School District, a rural area with a current population of approximately 900 students, is located in the western end of Schuylkill County in Intermediate Unit 29.  It consists of approximately 100 square miles with a total community population of approximately 6,000 residents.  The district, created in 1956, is comprised of five townships: Eldred, Barry, Hegins, Hubley, and Upper Mahantongo.

The majority of the district remains an agricultural community, although a greater number of employment opportunities exist.  Additional employment is found in several industries/businesses in the area.  Many working age members of the community also commute to surrounding areas within a 50 mile radius including Harrisburg, Reading, Pottsville and Hazleton.

The Tri‐Valley School District presents its instructional program through the Tri‐Valley Junior‐Senior High School (grades 7-12) and two elementary buildings (grades K-6): Hegins‐Hubley Elementary and Mahantongo Valley Elementary.  The buildings are staffed with certified instructional staff and administrators.

Vocational education is maintained through the district’s involvement in a county‐wide vocational program, along with an Agricultural Science curriculum presented in the high school.
