4-Year-Old Kindergarten Enrollment Eligibility for Fall 2025
For students enrolling in the 4K program in fall 2025, they must turn 4 on or before August 15, 2025. The birthdate range for the 4K program fall 2025 is those born between August 16, 2020, to August 15, 2021.
Start date: August 16, 2020 (turns 4 on this date)
End date: August 15, 2021 (turns 4 the day before the cutoff)

Tri-Valley School District Announces Exciting Updates to 4K Program
Dear Tri-Valley School District Community,
We are thrilled to announce exciting updates to our 4-year-old Kindergarten (4K) program at the Hegins-Hubley Elementary building. The 4K initiative has represented a significant milestone in our commitment to providing comprehensive and inclusive educational opportunities for our youngest learners.
We wanted to take a moment to share with you some key details about our 2025-26 school year 4K program:
Eligibility: The program is open to children who turn four (4) years old on or before August 15th. Children who are age eligible for the District’s 5-year-old kindergarten are not eligible for the 4K program. The 4K program is open to children residing within the Tri-Valley School District's boundaries.
Program Start Date: The 4K program follows the same attendance calendar as grades K-12. The first day of the 2025-26 school year is Wednesday, August 20, 2025.
Program Start/End Times: The program schedule has been revised from half-day sessions to a modified full-day format. We acknowledge that the current programming of two half-day sessions did not align with community preferences and we listened. Although 4K students will continue to have a reduced school day compared to those in grades K–6, they will experience increased classroom time compared to the inaugural year of the program.

To begin the enrollment process, please follow the steps below:
Step 1: Pre-Registration

Complete and submit the required information on the electronic pre-registration form. BE SURE TO CHOOSE ENTRY YEAR 2025-2026 AND THE PREFILLED START DATE OF 8/11/2025. THIS IS A GENERIC DATE FOR OUR SYSTEM TO START NOT THE STUDENT'S ACTUAL START DATE.
Upon successful completion of the pre-registration form:
* If you do not currently have a PowerSchool Parent Portal account, you will receive an email from poweraccount@tvdawgs.net containing your login credentials. Please allow 2-3 business days to receive the email.
* If you already possess a PowerSchool Parent Portal account, the child you are registering for kindergarten will be added to your existing account. In this case, you will receive an email notifying you that the child has been successfully added to your account. Please allow 2-3 business days to receive the email.
Please remember to keep your login credentials secure and avoid sharing them with others. Protecting your account information is essential for safeguarding your student's data and privacy.
Step 2: Online Enrollment

Parents are requested to provide the child's Birth Certificate (proof of age*), two (2) forms of proof of residency, and proof of immunization records* prior to the registration event. State law requires exact dates and written proof of immunizations from a physician. Written proof must contain the physician’s letterhead or be authorized by the physician’s office. All immunizations must be completed before the first day of school. Pennsylvania Law requires all new school entrants in this state to be immunized against certain communicable diseases. Immunization requirements for entering school can be found HERE.
* Proof of the child's age
Any one of the following constitutes acceptable documentation: birth certificate; notarized copy of birth certificate; baptismal certificate; copy of the record of baptism – notarized or duly certified and showing the date of birth; notarized statement from the parents or another relative indicating the date of birth; a valid passport; a prior school record indicating the date of birth.
* Immunizations required by law
Acceptable documentation includes: either the child’s immunization record, a written statement from the former school district or from a medical office that the required immunizations have been administered, or that a required series is in progress, or verbal assurances from the former school district or a medical office that the required immunizations have been completed, with records to follow.

Step 3: Confirmation of Enrollment
Those who complete the registration process, including submitting all necessary forms and documents, will be contacted to confirm enrollment on a first-come, first-served basis. Please allow up to 20 business days after submitting all necessary forms and documents to be contacted via email. All families, regardless of enrollment status, will be contacted.
Transportation Information: Transportation is not provided for the 4K Program. Parents/Guardians are responsible for transportation to/from the program.
Compulsory School Age: Through the enactment of Act 16, the definition of compulsory school age was changed to “the period of a child’s life from the time the child’s parents elect to have the child enter school and which shall be no later than 6 years of age until the child reaches 18 years of age. The term does not include a child who holds a certificate of graduation from a regularly accredited, licensed, registered or approved high school.” 24 P.S. §13-1326.
