Extension Options:
Use “Sound Touch” app in conjunction with song for real life photos and animal sounds
Allow student to choose the animal from field of 2, 3, or 4 (choice making)
Teacher names the animal during the song and student selects the correct image from a field of 2, 3, or 4 (animal identification).

Roll a Farm (Magnet game) Build a farm using the dice (either with number and corresponding chart, or animals directly on the dice). Keep a tally of how many animals are on the farm. Review 1 to 1 counting to double check your tally.

Animals on the Farm Color Activity Complete book about colors of farm animals as a class or independently. ("Animals on the Farm" - little reader)
Down on Grandpa’s Farm Sentence Builder Sing song and/or watch video as a class. Use word/picture cards to build you own verses to the song. Sing the new verses as you point to each word. Farm Animal Picture Puzzles Put the animals back together or get silly and build your own version of a new animal. Have older students use their new animal as a writing prompt. What is your animal called? Where does it live? What does it eat? Teach students a strategy of how to put the pieces together. For example, first sort by frame color, then match the frame edges.
Preposition Barn On, In, Out, Behind, Under, Above, Next, In, Over, Near, Far. Use prepositions to give students directions of where to place their animal - ie “Put the cow behind the fence” “Put the chicken in the barn”. Choice cards available to get you started.
