Jump to Letter Lily Pad Game
Students can jump their frog onto each letter (upper and lower case) during self directed or small group instruction.
Put the Frog - Learning Spatial Words
Give students opportunity to place frog in various places on the pond scene. Some options: in the sun, in the water, out of the water, below the surface, under the tree, above the pond, in the tree, over the pond, near to the sun, far from the tree
Let’s Eat! - Picture Card Activity
Lay out the cards. Teacher holds up frog and calls out a word or sound. Student finds the corresponding picture and feeds it to the frog. Words included: log, lily pad, mosquito, fish, frog, butterfly, dragonfly, turtle, pond, duck, worm, sun.
Letter Clip Cards - Letter Matching Game
Match the lowercase letter on the frog to the uppercase letter. Clip the clothespin on the correct letter.
Make A Match Magnets
Match each picture to it’s mate.
Pre-writing Sheets
Use a dry erase marker to trace the lines. Erase when finished. (Mr. Clean magic eraser does well with erasing on laminated sheets) or copy for independent practice.
Shape Up A Toad
Complete shape puzzle for working independently or in small group setting.
Frogs & Flies - Alphabet Match Game
Students match lowercase fly with corresponding uppercase frog. Leave a few on as examples or limit number of options as needed for each student. If using with a group, give each group member same number of flies, and hold up flashcard (or lily pad from “Jump to Letter Lily Pad Game”) so each child can search their letters and see if they have it.

Puppet and diagram to be used as teach aids. Labeling activity for reinforcement of lesson.
