Group Learning

Mr. Ho believes that the best way for students to learn math is through group learning.  Students are assigned to visibly randomized groups and work together to solve math problems at different difficulty levels (e.g., mild, medium, and spicy).  This is like Dr. Peter Liljedahl's Building Thinking Classrooms teaching practices.  

Before any group learning, Mr. Ho provides an icebreaker question for his students to think about, share, and discuss in a talking circle each class so that they feel more comfortable working in groups.  Note: Mr. Ho got the idea of talking circles through online research on Indigenous culture.
