Library Policies

Acceptable Use Policy

TCL provides access to the internet, free of charge, to library patrons.  In order for us to better facilitate this access, we require users to read and comply with our Acceptable Use Policy.

Code of Conduct

The Tarkington Community Library encourages people of all ages to visit the library.  Those using the library and its resources have the right to expect a safe, comfortable environment that supports appropriate library services. Read about our Code of Conduct.

Fine and Lost Material Policy

Library materials are for the use of all patrons. In order to encourage the prompt return of borrowed materials, TCL assesses a fine for any borrower that fails to return materials on or before their due dates. Patrons are encouraged to read the Fine and Lost Material Policy.

Weapons Policy

For the safety of our patrons, weapons of any kind are not allowed on library premises.  Read more about this in our Code of Conduct.

Faxing

We offer faxing services for $1 per page.  We can send or receive faxes.  If you need to receive a fax at the library, you will need to arrange it with us ahead of time. *This is currently down at the moment*

Scanning

We will scan documents to your removable storage device (USB flash drives, hard drives, or CDs; we do not have the ability to save to memory cards), or email them to you for $1 per page.  We will not scan images or documents that are copyrighted or trademarked by someone else.

Free Programs

TCL offers free programs on an ever-changing basis.  From Summer Reading for the little ones, to book clubs for adults.
