Faculty Consultant
Students will have the opportunity to meet with a Faculty Consultant prior to ED810: Applied Research Project I.
The Faculty Consultant will guide students in choosing a researchable topic and share important information about the Applied Research Project with students. This assistance will occur for a short time during your ED780 course via a webinar and email(s).
This assistance is meant to give you a head start in ED810. In the first two units of ED810 you will finalize your researchable topic. Therefore, if for some reason you cannot meet with the Faculty Consultant, you are not to worry; the first two units of ED810 and the instructor guide you in choosing a researchable topic.
After ED780, the Faculty Consultant will hand you over to your ED810 instructor to assist you further. The Faculty Consultant will move on to guide other students entering ED780 and will no longer be your Faculty Consultant. Each instructor in ED810, ED820, ED830 and ED840 will hand you over to the next in line to guide you through the process.
Your Faculty Consultant will reach out to you via email in more than enough time to be able to prepare for the project, so please do not contact your advisor or graduate education department about the Applied Research Project. Until that point, you can find more information about the Faculty Consultant role and the Applied Research Project in the provided resources on this site to support your success in the program.
Applied Research Project
For the Applied Research project, students propose and develop a research project, carry out the research, and write up and present the results. Students must take one class per term for ED810, ED820, ED830, and ED840.
