Read Giancoli Chapter 5: Circular Motion and Gravitation. You may skip Section 5 - 9: Kepler's Laws and Section unless you are interested in reading about it. Read through and consider Conceptual Questions 1 - 18.

1. Read Giancoli Chapter 11: Vibrations and Waves. You only need to read sections 1, 2, 3, and 4. You can read sections 5 and 6 for fun if you wish, but they will not be on the test. Also check out conceptual questions 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 14.
Sections 7 - 13 are all about waves and Chapter 12 is all about sound. The AP Exam has dropped Mechanical Waves and Sound from the AP Exam (it used to be on there in previous years). So, you can read these sections on your own if you wish. Mechanical waves and sound are actually very interesting topics. These topics can answer questions such as: "Why do all things sound different when you hit them?" and "How do instruments such as saxophones and trumpets work (why do they have the fingerings that they do)?" It is actually kind of sad that we don't get to do these topics this year, because many students find them fascinating. Stop in and ask me if you want to know more. We will cover these topics in AP2!!
