There are no MOPS for this unit or for Rotational motion - don't worry, we will still do some more MOPS next year in AP Physics 2!! :)
In place of MOPS, you will be doing something kind of similar called Physics Aviary. You will submit your completed Physics Aviary assignments to the Google Form posted below and posted in Google Classroom. DO NOT submit the pictures to Google Classroom. Here are the instructions for Physics Aviary - these instructions are repeated in the Physics Aviary Submission form.
By the due date, you must have pictures of success for the following Physics Aviary Problems. You can either take screenshots with your computer or your phone or you can take pictures with your phone of your computer screen. Upload those screenshots or photos to a google folder. Then, go into the sharing settings of that google folder and copy/paste the link to the Physics Aviary Submission form. Make sure YOUR name, the success part (congratulations, you did it or whatever it says), and the name of the problem are visible in the picture. If all three are not visible, it doesn't count.
See my example below of a completed assignment. Notice how it has the name of the assignment (in this case, Find Mass with Torque), my name, the words and "Calculation Correct."
In these problems:
Each time you attempt a problem, the numbers are different (similar to many MOPS problems). So, make sure you don't back out or accidentally hit submit before you are ready.
Pay attention to what units the answer box wants your answer in. For example, sometimes it gives you a bunch of information in standard units (kilograms and meters), but then asks for an answer in milli-Joules. Just keep track, because it really isn't fun when you do an entire calculation and then get it wrong because you entered a number in the wrong magnitude. If this happens, I'll probably accept it, just take a photo and send me a note in the submission form.
There are error allowances for success (the answer was 1.98 but you put 2), but those allowances can have extremely small ranges - unnecessarily small. If you are really close but it didn't give you a success, just take a picture of your answer and the correct answer (still with your name and the name of the problem) and I'll probably accept it.
Here are the Physics Aviary Assignment 6 specific instructions:
Go to: http://www.thephysicsaviary.com/ or google the Physics Aviary
Click on "HW" in the top tabs. Click on "search engine" towards the top of the page in the paragraph. Leave program name blank.
Program Type = Homework
Available Languages = Croation
Unit = Fluids
Class = AP Physics 2
Leave key words blank.
Click "find program."
You can also just click the links below - its easier.
Complete the following assignment modules:
Pressure from Fluid Column - note that the first answer box wants the "fluid pressure" - this is similar to "gauge pressure" that we talked about in class - it does not account for atmospheric pressure. So do NOT add Patm the end. Then, you do add the Patm for the total pressure answer box.
Optional Problems (I will give you 4 points ec for completing these - you have to get both and all of the regularly assigned problems; tell me in the Submission form notes to look for them):

DO NOT turn in your pictures to Google Classroom. Turn them in to THIS form.
