Unit 2 - Uniform Acceleration and Projectile Motion
Teacher Notes
Derivation of Kinematics Formulas
This is a brief explanation on where the kinematic relationships come from. This is similar to how we derived the equations from our labs. You should know how to do this as it is good practice for deriving in general.

Stacks of Graphs Worksheet
If you are going to use the Word version, you will have to download it - don't just print from the preview screen! The pictures and spacings get messed up if you print from the preview screen.
PBQ's 2A and 2B
Part A - Acceleration
Answer Key - I wasn't able to finish the whole thing, yet. It is still a work in progress.
Part B - Projectile Motion
Answer Key - I made a calculator error on #4. Just typed it in wrong. Answer should be 1.4x10^4 m/s/s (in non-scientific notation = 14285 m/s/s)

Physics Aviary
As I've said before, there is always more physics to do. The link below is to the Physics Aviary, a collection of extra practice problems. Every time you attempt a problem, it will have different numbers and it will check your answers for you. So, it is good practice for specific problem types that you may be having difficulties with.
Graphing Quiz as a formative Assessment
Lab
To start this unit, we did the Cart on a Ramp Lab. Below is the Lab Analysis Guide we used in that lab to help us to derive the kinematic formulas. I also posted our 6 graph shapes and how to linearize them. Keep this sheet for future reference. If you understand what this document says and how to use it, you will better understand how to do physics! Finally, if you are struggling with understanding what this whole "linearization" thing is about, you might want to check out the youtube video explaining the process linearizing graphs (link above under teacher notes).
Graph Types and Linearization (these can also be found on the main AP1 page)
Lab Analysis Guide (the document we went through in class after the cart on a ramp lab)
Lab Extension Worksheet (the graph prediction lab we did with the motion detectors)
Note: You should be able to answer Parts C, D, E, F, G, and H. We will not learn the "motion map" idea - so you may skip Part B.
