Hawk Talk

October Fun!  We have a busy October ahead of us.  All school masses, Family Mass, Pack the Pew Mass and Confirmation Enrollment Mass.  Don't forget the Living Rosary on October 17th at 6:00 in church.  7th grade school and RE students will lead us in this beautiful event.  Trunk or Treat is October 27th from 5-7 PM in the church parking lot.  Of course you don't want to miss the Halloween Parade at 8:15ish on October 31st!  Outside, weather permitting.

Happy October!

Just wanted to let you know how excited we are that we have an amazing number of students in grades 5-8 signed up to be altar servers.  What a blessing it is to have so many students interested in giving back to they parish in this way.   Our Catholic Identity is alive and well here at St. Linus School.

We are also thrilled about the many students who have signed up for our after school classes.  Chess and cooking are a huge hit and STEAM has a loyal following.  We also started choir this week and the students are very excited to begin.  We have lots going on and sometimes events are overlapping.  We will make every effort to schedule events on separate days but there are only so many days in the week.

Please watch the calendar for our family masses and our Pack the Pews masses.  Our family masses will feature students from certain grades as readers, gift bearers and greeters.  The Pack the Pew Masses invite our students and their families to attend the mass.  Students wear their athletics jersey or scout vest and will be blessed at the end of the mass.  Watch the Google Calendar for when those days will be happening.  We look forward to seeing you.

The Turkey Trot is right around the corner.  Here is a link to register.  https://raceroster.com/events/2023/79798/gobble-gobble-run-or-wobble-5k   This is a fun event that the whole family can participate in.  There are also sponsorship opportunities.

We have had an unbelievable Fall and Advent has started strong.  Our 8th grade girls won the Gold Ball for basketball.  We have an amazing number of Altar servers.  Our kindergarten students are lighting our Advent wreath.  We had another moving Veteran's Day Assembly with 7th grade chimers playing patriotic songs.  We celebrated the Feast of St. Nicholas with treats for our students and a visit from St. Nick himself.   Our 8th graders took their High School entrance exam with a blessing from Bishop Wypych.  When the Pope asked us to pray for peace St. Linus went all out.  We had a beautiful service and prayed for peace here and abroad.  We can't wait to see what else this Advent season has in store for us.
