2018 12/12 - Heather Orow, Space Weather

Grand Rapids National Weather Service forecaster Heather Orow gave a fascinating presentation on space weather. We know that solar disturbances can damage satellites, cause large power outages, disrupt radio signals, subject airline passengers to high amounts of radiation and in general have the potential to produce significant damage here on earth. One of the positive effects of these disturbances is auroras.

Heather had a great presentation filled with fascinating educational videos. She was able to find some of the links for the videos. When she could, she placed the link on the slide.
