DuPont Settlement Reached. Public Meeting Jan.10

"Today (12/15/2016) Governor Terry McAuliffe joined with Virginia Attorney General Mark Herring, Virginia Secretary of Natural Resources Molly Ward and representatives from the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to announce that Virginia will benefit from a $50 million settlement with DuPont stemming from the release of mercury from the company’s former facility in the City of Waynesboro, Virginia.

The trustees will host a public meeting to summarize key components of the draft restoration plan and answer questions. The public meeting will be held on Jan. 10, 2017, at the Waynesboro Public Library lower level meeting room from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM. The library is located at 600 S. Wayne Avenue, Waynesboro, Virginia, 22980. Following the comment period, the trustees will review and consider comments and prepare the final RP/EA.
