It’s a wet day at the Arboretum but come down and enjoy the celebrations of Reconciliation Day. Take some time to learn about our shared histories and cultures and to explore how we can all contribute to achieve reconciliation in Australia. Buy a sausage while you’re here. Onions are on point.

Each year the Mulga Scout Group holds an Anzac Day Dawn Service in the grounds beside the Scout Hall. During the Service we project the War Memorial Dawn Service onto a big screen, we have youth members perform a guard of honour, youth members and leaders doing readings and we finish off with a breakfast.

In the past this service has been for the Scouting Members and their families, however this year we are looking to invite the local community to join us in the ceremony. We would like to invite your members and their families to join us at dawn on Anzac Day to take part in all or some of our service and breakfast.

Please note that there is a charge for the breakfast component of the service to allow us to cover costs. For those who would like to join us for breakfast we serve bacon and egg rolls with a hot drink for $5 per person, however as a sign of thanks and respect all Service Personal receive breakfast free of charge. Scouting members also have the option to receive a badge for an additional $2 each.

Mulga Scout Group has moved over to Operoo!!

Operoo is an Australian based business adopted by many schools and clubs across Australia including Scouts in other states. In Operoo, parents create an account/profile for their child which is then shared with Scouts ACT.  This record is owned and maintained by the parents/guardians and can be updated or deleted at any time.

All families will shortly receive an email inviting you to create your account in the Operoo system. This prompts you to record your contact details and child's medical information which you then elect to share with Scouts ACT. Once shared, this information is then visible to your child's Scout leaders who can access this as required. Please note, as per normal Scout processes, this information is only shared with Scout Leaders who have direct responsibility for the care of your child.

Sharing your child’s profile will also allow Leaders to send you activity consent forms though the Operoo App which can then be consented to online. A key benefit of Operoo is the removal of filling out emergency contact details and health / medical information every time your child attends an activity (unless changes/updates to this information occur).

You can download the Operoo app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

Over time Scouts ACT will be rolling out the ability to pay for certain activities (e.g camps) through Operoo, so you will be able to pay for an activity at the time of providing consent.
