Mulga Scout Group History

Mulga Scout Group was formed when the struggling Calwell Scout Group and Isabella Plains Scout Group merged.

Isabella Plains Scout Group had a hall in Richardson which was being vandalised every week as well as other Scouting assets while Calwell Scout Group met at the Woolshed at Tuggeranong Homestead (located behind the current Mulga Scout Hall).

The name Mulga Scout Group comes from the native Mulga Brown Snake as well as the Mulga Tress that grew in the paddock around the current Scout Hall.

The Mulga Scarf is a mix of the original scarves from Isabella Plains and Calwell and the colours have the following significance.

The Brown represents the rich brown earth and the Mulga snake, The Pink and Gray represent the Galahs that are found in the area.
