Mission
To give students and parents ownership over the betterment of the school and create an environment of open collaboration and welcome commentary between students, parents, and faculty.
Purpose
To cultivate student leadership, create a structured setting for student feedback, promote social consciousness among our students, and fund raise for the school's various development projects
Structure
Student roles: The board consists of 6 positions: a president, a vice president, a secretary, a treasurer, two publication chairs, and two class representatives for grades 3rd through 8th.
Students in the 5th - 8th grade with at least all B grades in their classes who receive approval from their teachers are eligible to run for election. Each position is won by popular vote from the student body and staff. Additionally, the two class representatives are chosen by each class starting in the 3rd grade. Students elected onto the board are expected to attend weekly half an hour meetings.
