Vice Chair
Kareem Janoudi, a software engineer deeply rooted in the Lansing community, is committed to the success of the Greater Lansing Islamic School (GLIS), where his three children, aged 5, 6, and 7, attend. Alongside his Michigan State University graduate wife, Kareem is dedicated to raising his family in this nurturing environment. His vision includes leveraging his technical expertise to advance GLIS's educational goals, reflecting his passion for integrating technology into progressive learning.

Sr. Marwa Adawe
I grew up in the Lansing community and I am a proud Spartan. I graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science. I work at Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory as a Laboratory Technician in the Microbiology Department. My daughter has been attending GLIS since PRE-K. I am delighted to be part of the school committee to serve our community and empower future generations.

I have been apart of the Lansing community since my undergraduate studies at Michigan State University in the 1980’s and then returned to the area in 1990 during my training program. I have had the opportunity to serve on the Board of Trustees and the Executive Committee of ISGL in the past. I am honored to be a member of the School Committee now. I look forward to empowering the students with skills and traits that allow them to excel in all their endeavors they pursue, to do everything with Ihsan, be committed and tied to our community, and stay on the righteous path that pleases Allah (SWT). Ameen.
Muhammad Awais Kang Parent Representative
My name is Muhammad Awais Kang. I am honored to be nominated to represent the parents of GLIS. I have two children that attend the school. I grew up in this community and have seen how great GLIS has become. I graduated from Waverly High school. I did my undergraduate and medical school at Michigan State University. I am a cardiologist at McLaren. I look forward to helping our children become successful, hardworking, and devoted Muslims.

I have been in the Greater Lansing Islamic Community for ~25 years. Both my children have been attending GLIS since pre-K. The first one graduated GLIS 8th grade last year and is currently in Okemos High School. The second one is currently in 4th grade I am currently a Professor at MSU. As an educator, my goal is to support both the students and the teachers to meet the mission and vision of GLIS. I am blessed and excited to serve this community and the school
