Hello,
My name is Mrs. Aranda (maiden name Ms. Li) and I look forward to being your music teacher for this school year!
I grew up in Taiwan and San Diego throughout my childhood, and remained in the states permanently by middle school. I began learning my primary instrument piano in first grade and violin in fourth grade. I was in the North County Chinese School's orchestra program, Certificate of Merit for piano and violin, studied classical piano under Jia Sheng Zhou, studied Suzuki violin under Lu Yan Guo and Fei Fei Song, and performed in the Youth Symphony. I also played flute, alto saxophone, and percussion throughout middle, high school, and college (Marching Aztecs, Wind Symphony, and Javanese-Gamelan percussion ensemble). I completed my college education at San Diego State University with a B.M. in Music Education and a Single-Subject Teaching Credential for K-12 Music. I received the Schuchman Music Teacher Award in 2020 from the San Diego Unified VAPA Department and am the manager for San Diego Unified School District's Elementary District Concert.
When I am not teaching, I love spending time with my daughter Lily and my husband, kayaking, playing in the Pomerado Community Band, cross-stitching, and playing video games.
As your music teacher, I will help facilitate a fun, nurturing, and challenging musical environment for students' musical growth. Let's work together to develop and grow as a music family.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Aranda (Ms. Li)
