Parent & Student Info Nights

Throughout the school year, the counseling department holds information events for parents and students. Here are some of the events that we hold and handouts with information that is shared:

Senior Information Night: TBD in the Park theater (fall)

Counselors will present information to seniors and their parents about key information for their senior year, including a refresher of graduation requirements, off campus opportunities and building resources. The focus will be on the college application process, which will include admissions testing and financial aid (more on financial aid will be presented at October's Financial Aid Night).

Incoming Freshman Orientation Night: (December) TBD in the Park Theater

This event is put on in collaboration with the Park administration. Parents and students can view the elective departments and courses that Park offers, they can get information about the clubs and athletics Park offers, and the counselors will give presentations about the Advanced Placement (AP) program at Park. This typically coincides with the scheduling for the next school year. We will also be scheduling incoming parochial students this evening (See PDF of pictures of the event below).

Financial Aid Night: (Fall) TBD in the Park Library

The Park Counseling Staff, along with the College Access Counselor from Great Lakes Lending, present information about the financial aid process, including the types of financial aid available and completing the FAFSA. Representatives from the Wisconsin Educational Opportunity Programs (WEOP) office will also also share info about the TIP Grant.

Spotlight on AP/PLTW Night: TBD in the library

The Park High School counseling staff will host a Spotlight on AP/PLTW Night at Park High School. The counseling staff will present information about the Advanced Placement and Project Lead the Way Programs at Park High School and how students can utilize these nationally recognized programs in numerous ways (such as earning college credit while still in high school).

Senior Honors Banquet: May 2021 at 5:30PM in the Park Theater

This evening honors our seniors and their achievements. Students who have achieved academic honors (3.5 cumulative GPA after their 7th semester) receive an academic plaque. 4 year student athletes will be recognized by the Activities Department. Winners of the Washington Park High School Scholarship are announced, as well as department awards and other community awards. Information and invitations will be sent out in early April.
