Positioning System for an Autonomous Robot

Autonomous robots need to be able to have a sense of their environment in order to navigate it effectively. This project aims to create a robot that can generate a map of its surroundings and be to able to determine its position relative to another position on the map after having moved. To simplify the complexity of this project, the environment to be navigated by the robot will be a simple one, it will be flat and will be of a known size of shape and will have no moving objects within it.
