Flood Comic Strip Project

Flood Comic Strip Project

Directions:

In small groups, create a comic strip depicting the similarities and differences between the Utnapishtim’s and Noah’s flood stories. Each group’s comic should show the story of someone being warned about a flood, preparing for it, the flood itself, post flood events, etc.

There are numerous similarities and differences between these two stories. You are to color coordinate the picture boxes in your strips. Choose one color to represent Utnapishtim’s flood and another color to represent Noah’s. For the boxes which depict a shared characteristic/event, use both colors or choose a third color. You are to make a key somewhere on your comic so viewers will know what each color means.

Your comic strips should contain at least eight boxes. Boxes should include images, dialogue bubbles, and captions. The boxes do not need to individually contain all three of these elements, but all three should be present somewhere in your strip.

Although this project is called a comic strip, your project does NOT need to be funny. You are to merely depict the similarities and differences between the two stories.
