Late Work Policy
All homework is expected to be turned in on time. Any homework that is turned in late will result in a 10% grade deduction per weekday it is late. This does include both A and B days. If you know in advance that you will be absent when an assignment is due, either turn in the assignment in advance, email it to me (depending on the assignment), or have a family member/classmate turn it in for you. If you have an unexcused absence and do not turn in an assignment that was due that day, your grade will be docked 10% per weekday it is late. I feel you are all old enough to take responsibility for turning in assignments on time.
***The 10% policy is also in effect for speeches; however, since speeches may only be given on days we have class, you will be docked 10% if it is not ready the day it is due. If you have an unexcused absence the day you are expected to present, you will receive a 10% deduction on that speech’s grade. If you are still not ready to deliver your speech the second period after it was due, you will receive a zero on the speech. This is a strict policy because this is a fast-paced class. After the second day of presenting, the class will move on to their next speech. We cannot wait for anyone to give their speech after we have already started working with the next one.
