You will be researching one of the following seven biomes. FYI, the names of the biomes highlighted in the table below are links to a resource that you can use to find the information you need to find.
NCWiseOWL Elementary Zone (Use Brittanica, search for your biome)
You will not have time to use all of the resources, but if one resource is not working for you, you at least have five other resources you can switch to.
Use the above resources to:
Define and describe the biome.
Things to think about when describing anything:
Sensory information: What does it look like, smell like, sound like, feel like?
Where is it? Is it located in more than one place?
How big is it or how much space does it take up relative to all the space on the Earth ( 5,502,532,127,000,000 square feet
Which is read, "Five quadrillion, five hundred two trillion, five hundred thirty-two billion, one hundred twenty-seven million square feet")?
Or--what is it comparable to? Ex. Is your biome about the same size as NC or is it more similar to a larger state like Texas, or is it about the size of 3 or 4 Texases?
Find the biome's average yearly rainfall. Remember to include units (big difference between inches and centimeters--units matter).
Find the biome's average summer temperature and average winter temperature. Again, remember to include units
(big difference between Co and Fo).
List the biome's abiotic factors.
List the biome's biotic factors.
Within Biomes certain organisms participate in symbiotic relationships:
