Sarah Koon

Sarah Koon holds a B.M. in Music Education from Grove City College and an M.A. in Arts Administration from Goucher College. She comes to Rutland from Charles County Public Schools, a district in the suburbs of Washington, DC. During her 13 years there, she taught orchestra to students in grades 5-12 at multiple schools. Her middle and high school groups were frequently invited to perform at the Maryland State Orchestra Festival. She also conducted several Honors ensembles and served as a Solo and Ensemble Festival Judge.

Sarah is also an active performer. As both a violinist and a vocalist, she performs a variety of styles ranging from classical to Broadway and contemporary worship music to oldies.
