8.5.A Describe the annual review process and provide an example from the annual survey data
and Advisory Committee minutes with pertinent information highlighted.
At the end of the course I survey the students on their likes/dislikes and what they would like to see more of. During advisory committee meetings we talk and discuss new technology and processes that industry may see everyday and if those processes take special equipment. The last meeting we talked about TPMS sensors and the need of reprogramming. Our old scan tool did not have the capability of reprogramming and our TPR was out of date. Through this meeting I found a deal through OTC and traded in the old scan tool for an up to date Evolve and updated the TPR to work with that scan tool for up to date reprogramming of TPMS sensors

Standard 8.7 - Parts Purchasing - A systematic parts purchasing system should be in place.
8.7.A If purchasing parts, provide a written procedure or parts request form.
Portage High School Auto works close with the local NAPA Auto parts here in town. We do all of our ordering of parts and supplies through there online system, NAPA prolink. An estimate needs to be put together and approved by the instructor before the students can order the materials. Parts are then delivered to the high school with the invoice. The instructor keeps track of the invoices and reports cost of materials to students. Students pay the school for the supplies and that money goes into the Auto activity account. Payment of parts to NAPA then comes out of that activity account.
8.7.B ETL may discuss this issue with instructor.
Standard 8.8 - Hand Tools - Each student should have access to basic hand tools comparable to tools required for employment. Students should be encouraged to purchase a hand tool set during the period of instruction.
