Identification‎ > ‎

Perry Local ensures there are ample and appropriate opportunities for assessment and reassessment using: group tests; individually-administered tests; audition/performance; display of work; exhibition; and checklists.  Children may be referred on an ongoing basis, based on the following: child request (self-referral or peer referral); teacher recommendation; parent/guardian request; and/or other (e.g., psychologist, principal, gifted coordinator etc.).

Upon receipt of referral, the district will obtain permission to assess and then complete any/all needed assessments.  The district shall provide at least two opportunities for assessment per year (October & March).  Results of screening, assessment and identification will be shared with the parents following completion of scoring.
