Perry Local Schools offers a variety of courses at Edison Middle School and Perry High School that provide service to students identified as gifted in Superior Cognitive, Creative Thinking, Specific Academic (Math, Reading, Science, and Social Studies), and Visual Performing Arts. The general education teachers who oversee these courses are provided with professional development and support from the Gifted Coordinator, who holds a Gifted Intervention Specialist license.
Please note that gifted service courses at the middle school and high school will include both gifted identified students and high ability students.

Art 1* / Art 2** Denotes course that is offered at Edison Middle School for high school credit. Students participating in the first sequence of course work by department (i.e. Algebra 1, Spanish 1, Art 1) will receive a Written Acceleration Plan (documenting subject acceleration) in addition to a Written Education Plan (documenting gifted service).
Students who are identified as gifted at Perry High School can be served through a variety of College Credit Plus (CCP), Advanced Placement (AP), and Honors or enriched courses. The availability of these courses may change from year to year due to student enrollment. You can get a listing of these courses by viewing the Perry High School course book.
