For this project, I had to generate a curved lithophane from a website and then print it out. The overall design process for this project was quite simple because all I had to do was adjust the settings inside of the lithophane generator website. For the image on the lithophane, I chose a picture of my dog to give as a gift. The overall size of the lithophane was quite small so I plan to turn it into a night light because the size of the lithophane is a good size for a nightlight shade.
Once I had my .stl file which the website emails to you I put it into the Prusa slicer to be printed off. For this design, I used PLA filament with 100% infill and I didn't really tweak any other settings. Once it was printed it was a little hard to see the design even in a well-lit room but after putting my phone’s flashlight behind it I could see the design a lot better. This made me a lot more confident about turning it into a nightlight as the design was very clear when exposed to a nearby light source.
