Acrylic Project Reflection
This project was by far the hardest one I had to do yet. This was due to it being a very independent project where we could create any sort of acrylic design we wanted so I chose to go with the Moncler logo which I think looks really cool. In order to get this to work, I had to get a png image of the logo online and then throw it into Inkscape. Once it was in Inkscape I had to trace the bitmap of the image to get another copy of it without color and then I had to break it apart so I could separately interact with each line on the logo. I then had to use three colors for each layer of acrylic which were red, white, and blue, and set each line to a specific color. Once I had every single line on the design assigned to a color it was then time to print it.
Printing the acrylic logo first required me to print out the white base of the logo which would be what every other piece of acrylic would be laid on top of because it was the biggest piece. I added the file to the Gowforge website and then selected all of my preferences and cut out the white part. I repeated that process for all of the other pieces of acrylic then laid them all into place by perfectly centering them with pieces of cardboard.
