We recommend you use the option sheet for your grade to determine which courses you plan to select in Xello. Putting the course code for a course in the search bar in our XELLO Course Planner will make it easier to find the course you want.

Please review course selections with your parent(s) / guardian(s) to ensure that you have selected the correct
Course
Grade level - The 4th character of the course code is:
1 for grade 9 (ie. AMU1O)
2 for grade 10 (ie. AMU2O)
3 for grade 11 (ie. PAF3O)
4 for grade 12 (ie. PAF4O)
Language of instruction (English or French) - in-person courses taught in French (not including the French subject) have a course code ending in “F” (ie. CGC1WF)
Delivery model - courses ending in “T” (taught in English) or “6” (taught in French) are eLearning courses (online and asynchronous, where the student is expected to work independently, without in-person teacher support from a staff member at LDH (ie. ENG4UT or HHG4M6). Courses without the “T” or “6” character are in-person courses at LDH (ie. ENG4U).
for Phys Ed classes, gender preference -
Courses for female identifying students have a course code ending in “P” (ie. PPL1OP)
Courses for male identifying students have a course code ending in “Q” (ie. PPL1OQ)
Courses open to all genders have only 5 characters in the course code and end in “O” (ie. PPL1O)
Choose your courses carefully as courses for next year are staffed based on your choices as of the end of February. Students entering grades 9 and 10 will not have the opportunity to request course changes once their courses are submitted, and course change opportunities for students entering grades 11 and 12 will also be limited.
Click the “Submit” button to submit your courses - please note that you will be unable to make changes to your course selection after that - your courses will be “locked in” - so choose carefully..
