Minister's Certificate of Recognition for Community Involvement
Students who go above and beyond in their volunteer work during high school can earn a Minister’s Certificate of Recognition for Community Involvement when they graduate. This new certificate celebrates your dedication to helping others and and is earned by completing 50 or more volunteer hours during high school.
There are three certificate categories:
Bronze: 50 to 99 volunteer hours
Silver: 100 to 199 volunteer hours
Gold: 200+ volunteer hours
Important Notes:
Students and families received semester 1 final report cards electronically on Tuesday, February 10, 2026. The number of hours of community involvement the student has on record with LDH can be found on the third page of the student’s report card.
The deadline for students to submit hours to be considered for a Certificate of Recognition is toward the end of April of their graduating year. For Graduates of the Class of 2026, that date is Monday, April 27th, 2026.
After April 27th, LDH will continue to accept hours from graduating students to help them meet their 40 hour graduation requirement.
Eligible activities include volunteering with a non-profit organization and at charitable events hosted by a for-profit organization. Please note that students should not be completing tasks that are normally done by a paid worker, and organizations should not be making a profit from a student’s volunteer work.
