Ceramics II introduces modular, solid forming, drape forming through hand-building and exposure to throwing on the potter’s wheel. Students will explore the sculptural aspects of ceramics, including wall relief, and the making of larger vessels. Students will complete projects, using commercial and student made glazes, stains and textural surface decoration. All students will undergo the process of firing the ceramic kiln, visiting current works of art, and researching cultural influences.
