Ceramics I is designed for the student who is interested in working with low-fire clay. Experimentation with the various methods of handbuilding in clay, a study of the history of ceramics and the contemporary uses of clay are explored. Traditional pinch pot, slab, coil methods are taught and developed. Decorative glazing and textures are also introduced.
