The NRHS Art Department’s philosophy embraces building and enhancing formal art skills and techniques while remaining dedicated to experimentation, intellectual engagement, and celebrates the individual expressive voice. Our art courses offer the opportunity to explore new methods and develop visual perception and critical, analytical skills that apply to the arts and in everyday life. As part of the Art Department, both the students and teachers, form a supportive environment that encourages and supports creative problem solving, risk-taking, and decision-making.
There are 3 Art Sequences at NRHS for students to choose from:
1. General Art Sequence
2. Advanced Placement Sequence
3. Academy of Art Sequence
