My name is Dissan Kirumira. I completed my Bachelors in Industrial Chemistry from Makerere University, Kampala-Uganda in 2021. Later, I worked as a Process Engineer Trainee at CNOOC Uganda Limited. In August 2023, I began my PhD in Chemical Engineering at West Virginia University, focusing on Advanced Process and Energy Systems Engineering under Dr. Bhattacharyya. Outside of studies, I enjoy playing soccer, going on adventures, and reading storybooks.
Work Experience:

Modeling of Co-gasification based Hydrogen Production for Legacy Mine Site using a Blend of Biomass and Coal as Feedstocks
The project involves creating a process model that serves as the basis for the large-scale production of hydrogen gas through the use of Aspen Plus simulation. Gasification is used to achieve this production, with waste coal and biomass serving as the main feedstocks.
