My name is David Akomolafe. I obtained my BS degree in Chemical engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife in 2023. Following this, I worked as a graduate intern at Matrix Energy Exploration and Production Limited, Nigeria where I delved into process optimization for oil and gas upstream operations.
Currently, I am working on the development of reinforcement learning algorithms for automation of chemical process systems. In my free time, I enjoy going on outdoor adventures.

Reinforcement Learning for Chemical Process Systems using a Hybrid Approach.
My research focuses on the intersection of process control, simulation, and dynamic optimization to leverage the power of reinforcement learning (RL) combined with traditional first-principles models to develop adaptive models for the dynamic control and optimization of complex, nonlinear chemical processes.
