MISSION
The Global Citizenship Program’s mission is to promote global competency, a key twenty-first century skill, in Milford High School students. Through interdisciplinary academic study, community service and international travel, participants increase their global awareness, heighten their appreciation of diversity, and enlarge their capacity to work and contribute in an increasingly interconnected world.

Program Requirements
All Milford High School students in good academic standing (GPA of 2.5 or above) are eligible to apply for admission to the Global Citizenship Certificate program.
Academics-
Required Courses: 4 years of Foreign Language (any combination), World Studies II or AP World History, World Literature or A.P. Literature plus 9 Credits of approved electives. An 80 or better is required for all global courses.
Travel: Students will participate in foreign travel experience through a school-sponsored trip/exchange or a pre-approved individual trip with educational and cultural components. Attendance at approved cultural events may also be included as a portion of their travel experience.
Service: A minimum of 30 service hours with a global or international scope must be completed prior to the submission of the GPC student’s portfolio review.
Senior Reflection Project: At the end of their senior year, GCP students will submit a Senior Reflection Portfolio summarizing the work they have done to achieve the Global Citizenship Certificate.
