Open Classroom from your UMass Global Gmail Account

  • Log on to classrooom.google.com

  • UMass Global Teachers and Students: Email help@umassglobal.edu for help with Google problems.

  • Another way to find Google Classroom is to locate Classroom from your UMass Global Email Account with UMass Global credentials.

  • Students and Faculty can use the student UMass Global gmail account by logging using mail.umassglobal.edu.

  • Go to My UMass Global as a Student using your umassglobal username/password at: https://my.umassglobal.edu/sites/student/MyResources/Pages/resources.aspx

  • Under My Services Resources on Left Menu:

    • Select My: Account

    • Select Email

    • You can set your Google account to go back and forth between your other Google accounts by adding your different accounts.

    • Tip: Use a different photo for your UMass Global Google Apps for Education account so you can quickly see which Google account you are in.

    • Your Google email account must have the mail.umassglobal.edu address.

  • Look for the Google Apps icon near the top right of your gmail screen.

  • If you don't see Classroom in your apps menu, go directly to classroom.google.com and log in with your UMass Global user name and password.

    • This will open to an apps screen.

    • Click on "More"

    • When you click on "More" you will see additional apps including "Classroom"

    • If the Classroom App doesn't show up after you have logged in to UMass Global Google, click on http://classroom.google.com

Click on Classroom and you are ready to create your classroom.

IMPORTANT: Be sure to log in to Classroom or Class Stream as a Teacher

  • UMass Global will need to log in as a Teacher to be able to create a Google Classroom.

    • Once you are in to Google Apps for Education, click on the icon to get to all of the apps. You will need to click on "more" to get to the classroom app.

    • You can add your own Google Classroom by clicking on the plus sign and select "Create"

    • You don't need to include section or room unless you wish to. Students will not be joining this class. Include your curriculum subject.

    • You can also join other students' classrooms once they send you the code by clicking on "Join" and typing in the code.

  • Your Google Classes created in the UMass Global account will be listed on the top left.

  • If you created a Classroom in Brandman in another course, you may be still able to access it in the UMass Global account.
