Figure it Out Fifth Grade

This year the students will be participating in a variety of integrated S.T. R.E.A.M. (science, technology, writing, engineering, art, and math) experiences.  These opportunities are aimed at developing their problem solving, communication, and planning skills as well as building a collaborative work environment. These opportunities will be integrated into our curriculum while also including a service learning component. Service learning refers at an experience that involves students in a wide range of problem solving that often benefits community members while also advancing curriculum goals.  While some projects may have a very strong engineering component not all projects will have this. We will, however, learn about and utilize the engineering design process as a guide for brainstorming, problem solving, and revision.

In order to complete some of these projects I will be looking to obtain the following materials.  If you have any of these items at home that you would be willing to donate please send them in with your child so that we may build our STEAM resources.
