Culinary Arts introduces students to the fundamentals of cooking, baking, and food preparation while emphasizing safety, sanitation, and kitchen management. Students gain hands-on experience in a professional-style kitchen and explore a variety of cuisines, techniques, and food service operations. this course prepares students for entry-level opportunities in the fast-growing food service industry and lays the foundation for continued education in culinary or hospitality fields.
Culinary Arts is a two-year course is designed to provide students interested in a career in a food service with the information and practical experiences needed for the development of food service job-related competencies.
The students receive laboratory experiences using commercial food service equipment, preparing food in quantity, and serving food. The course includes instruction on sanitation and safety in the food and beverage industry. Students will receive instruction through the ANSI Food Handler Course and the opportunity to obtain the 2 year food handler certification.
