The Cosmetology program is a program provides students with foundational skills and training in hair care. This hands-on course prepares students to pursue licensure and a career in the beauty industry by introducing them to professional techniques, safety standards, and salon practices aligned with Illinois state requirements.
Cosmetology can be taken 1 or 2 years to provide students interested in a career in Cosmetology with the information and practical experiences.
Theories covered in this course are hair design, design decision, chemistry, and salon business. This course is part instruction and part lab. In the lab students will learn wet and dry hair styling which includes:
Finger Waving
Roller and Pin Curl Placements
Air Forming
Iron Curling
Hair Pressing
Flat Ironing
All Finishing Techniques
Braiding Techniques
Long Hair Styling, including all types of up-dos are an integral part of the course
There is a $40 class fee for supplies and products
