Every month, each instructor chooses one art student to be showcased on this website. These artists have displayed dedication and determination on their recent works of art, and should be commended on their efforts!
May Artists
Janelle Jung Grade 12
Janelle is currently in Mrs. Wise's Art Abilities class. She loves drawing, painting, and sculpting and has a wonderfully creative mind which allows her to put an original spin on every project she does. In addition to art, Janelle is a big fan of bowling and learning about reptiles of all kinds.
She especially enjoys writing and illustrating stories about dragons! Janelle loves to play with her dogs, swim, and hang out with her awesome family.
She is an active member of the KHS Art Club, the KHS Bowling Team, and has played basketball as a member of The Falcons (a SOAR Basketball basketball team).
In her future, Janelle hopes to work with animals- especially reptiles.
Art will always be a part of Janelle's life as a mode of relaxation and self-expression!

April Artists
Madelyn Green
Madelyn was chosen as the artist of the month for April by Mrs. Schaefer. Madelyn is currently in Mrs. Schaefer's 2D Art class, where she is growing as an artist each week! She is fearless when it comes to trying new things and experimenting. She wants to take the opportunity to learn as much as she can this semester, and when she has any free time after finishing projects, she doesn't waste a minute before starting something out of the ordinary just to see what she can do! She's an exciting young artist and has so much talent already, and it's only going to grow stronger with her desire to continue learning.
Madelyn's goal is to take as many art classes as she can, and hopefully get an art scholarship shen she's a senior! Below is a work of art created by Madelyn in acrylic paint of her brother. Way to go Madelyn!
Emily Been Grade 12
Emily is currently in Mrs. Wise's Senior Art class and was a member of Mrs. Wise's A.P. Art History last year.
Emily has improved her artistic skills through hard work and dedication and the results are wonderful! Emily puts extra time and energy into her artwork and she is very successful, as a result! Her work always has very personal meanings and celebrates those she loves. Emily has a passion for learning about the history of our world's art and she will be attending Loyola University to study Art History and to achieve her goal of becoming an Art Curator.
In addition to Art, Emily loves singing in Choir, thrift shopping, reading, and watching Netflix.

March Artists
Mada Laundrie Grade 12
Mada was chosen as artist of the month for March by Mrs. Schaefer. Mada is currently in Mrs. Schaefer's senior art class, and she is excelling above the expectations consistently with each work of art she creates. We just finished the painting unit, and Mada's painting turned out as if she has been painting for a few years; even though this was very new to her! Mada has a very strong work ethic and intrinsic motivation to always do her best, and never settle for anything less. I know that about Mada as a person in general, and her attitude towards all she does in her art class is the same way. Mada LOVES to run, and she is on the track and cross country team. She will also be running at Stevens Point after high school! WAY TO GO! She also enjoys drawing, and hanging with her friends. She hopes to finish high school strong, and keep working hard in the future. She will continue to try her best in everything and never give up! We are very proud of you, Mada!
Emma Handschke Grade 9
Emma is currently a member of Mrs. Wise's Intro to Art class. She has been chosen as a March Artist of the Month because of both her technical skills and the personal meaning she puts into the pieces she creates. In Intro to Art, we create Altered Books and Emma went above and beyond the requirements of this assignment to create a beautiful and deeply moving piece of art. Mrs. Wise is truly impressed by the mature level of Emma's art skills and we hope to see Emma in many more of our art classes in the future.
Besides loving art, Emma is a talented actor/singer/dancer who performs in our KHS Theatre and a member of our Cross Country and Track teams. She enjoys art, running, singing, reading, hiking, travelling, and camping.

FEBRUARY ARTISTS
Schanda Lockhart Grade 12
Schanda was chosen as artist of the month for February in Mrs. Schaefer's Computer Art Class. Schanda was a role model student in the class, and was very skilled using Photoshop. She set a great example for other students in the class and also provided others with great feedback and suggestions for improvement. Her ideas for class assignments were always personal and it was obvious she used the time to make her work more meaningful and useful for actual purposes outside of class.
Schanda is very interested in photography, drawing, camping, and loves to spend time with family and friends. Schanda hopes to live a happy, successful life! Congrats Schanda, we are proud of you!
Elaina Sirois Grade 12
Elaina is currently in Mrs. Wise's Senior Art class.
She is a very hard worker who regularly challenges herself by choosing personal subject matter for many of her art pieces. Elaina is willing to put extra time and energy into her artwork and she is very successful, as a result! She has a great 'can do' attitude and puts great care and attention into the details in her work. In addition to art, Elaina loves spending time with her friends, family, and pets. She currently works at a country club as a decorator and a waitress and she also loves volunteering in the community- especially when it involves little kids!
Elaina plans to attend UW- Platteville to pursue a degree in Engineering. We hope that art will always be a part of Elaina's life as a mode of relaxation and self-expression.

JANUARY ARTISTS
Abigail Vander Heiden Grade 12
Abigail was selected by Mr. Greeninger for his Artist of the month for January. Abigail is a very dedicated artist who is now in the advanced course Ceramics and doing an outstanding job. Abigail's creative ideas and quality of craftsmanship puts her in the top end of the class. Currently Abigail has completed a cylinder with surface decoration and a functional pitcher with a design pattern on it.
Along with putting a tremendous amount of time outside of the class time, Abigail still finds time to play the Clarinet. A sport that Abigail enjoys is tennis. Abigail plans to attend UW Stevens Point and wants to major in Health Promotion/Wellness. The entire art department is honored to have Abigail as one of our artist of the month. Great Job!

Hallie Dix Grade 10
Hallie was selected as a member of Mrs. Schaefer's 2D Art class for the artist of the month for January. Hallie is an extremely hard working student, and is showing such a great level of skill so early in the semester. It's clear she works hard on her drawing skills outside of class, and truly is self motivated and wants to grow and maximize her growth this semester as much as she can! It's exciting to imagine how far she's yet to grow!
Hallie loves shopping drawing, watching Netflix, going to the gym, baking, and spending time with her friends. She hopes to join a kickboxing class, and also loves doing yoga! She hopes to become an art teacher after high school! YAY!

Kailey Cudney Grade 12
Kailey is currently in Mrs. Wise's Senior Art class. She a very focused student who works hard to do her very best on each project she does. Although Kailey has not had an opportunity to take many art courses during her high school years, she has found that she really loves making art! She has strong natural abilities, but consistently works to develop and improve those skills with each project she does.
Kailey spends most of her time outside of school working or hanging out with friends. She loves science and math and will attend the University of Alabama, where she will begin her educational journey toward medical school. Her goal is to become a dermatologist. Art will be a wonderful way for Kailey to relax and express herself throughout her adult life.

DECEMBER ARTISTS
Courtney Zietlow Grade 11
Courtney is currently in Mr. Greeninger's Ceramic class and has been named December's Artist of the Month. Courtney has been doing some outstanding work the month of December on all of her ceramic projects. Courtney was also fighting some sickness and still managed to get her projects done with creativity and great craftsmanship. Courtney's outstanding dedication and effort put into her ceramic projects sets her apart from the average art student. There have been a number of days that Courtney could be found in the art room during her lunch time or spending time after school.
The art department is very proud of Courtney for being selected as Mr. Greeninger's Artist of the month for December. An even greater accomplishment is the piece below that Courtney completed and was entered into the Milwaukee Scholastic Art Show. Courtney received a Silver Key for this piece and is representing Kimberly High School as a top ceramic piece in the state of Wisconsin. Congrats again! Job well done!
Megan Huth Grade 11
Megan is a member of Mrs. Schaefer's 2D Art class. She has been selected as December student of the month because of her admirable
dedication to each art piece she creates. She has chosen very challenging images for all of the assignments, and most of them have been
created from her own photos, or photos of members in her family. She works very hard in class each day, and often times takes work home outside of class so she is sure to turn in her absolute BEST work. She's also a very humble, kind, and genuine young lady.
Megan enjoys playing soccer, being up north with her family, and sitting at coffee shops with her friends. She hopes to continue playing soccer
in college, and hopes to incorporate art into her career in the future. Great work Megan! Keep it up!!
Matthew Hovell Grade 12
Matt is currently in Mrs. Wise's Senior Art class. He enjoys drawing and has a wonderfully positive attitude which allows him to be open to challenges in every project we do. In addition to art, Matt is a big fan of reading,cooking, and baking. He also enjoys Graphic Design; using art and computer programs to create t-shirt designs and posters. Matt is quite involved in a range of clubs and activities and he is great student leader at KHS.
Matt's long term goals include attending college and studying to become an athletic trainer. Healthcare has always been Matt's interest, however Art will always be a part of his life as a mode of relaxation and self-expression.

November ARTISTS
Lauren Thomaschefsky Grade 11
Lauren is currently a member of Mrs. Schaefer's Oil Painting class. She has been chosen as a November Artist of the Month because of her willingness to learn new things, positive attitude, and work ethic during class. She works well with other students and has a wonderful way of bringing out the strengths of her peers and uniting people together. She can flow and interact with anyone in the room and truly finds a way to get to know others.
Lauren also loves writing, music, war movies, spirituality, helping others, and especially animals. Outside of school Lauren loves to work with sick animals and find them homes.
Keep up the great work Lauren! We're very proud of you!
Quianna Nejedlo Grade 12
Quianna is currently a member of Mrs. Wise's Senior Art class. She has been chosen as a November Artist of the Month because of her attention to detail and her work ethic in creating top-level pieces. She works well with every medium she encounters and has a wonderful "can do" attitude about every project. Quianna goes above and beyond requirements to produce beautiful artwork!
She plans to attend college and prepare for a future medical career.
Besides loving art, Quianna is interested in science, fashion, hockey, and working out. She enjoys playing hockey and hanging out with her friends.

Vivian Malsavage Grade 12
Vivian was selected by Mr. Greeninger as artist of the month for November. Vivian has shown a strong passion in all of her ceramic projects. The month of November has really stuck out as Vivian has been even putting in extra time during her open hour. Vivian's projects always have a high level of craftsmanship and creative aspect to the final project idea.
Some other areas of interest that Vivian has is reading, spending time with her friends, and doodling in her sketch book for creative ideas. A goal that Vivian has is to someday get her art into a show and increase her ability with her painting skills. Congrats once again to Vivian for being Mr. Greeninger's Artist of the Month. October ARTISTS
Grace Buchanan Grade 12
Grace was selected by Mrs. Schaefer as artist of the month for October. Grace has not taken an art class through all of her high school career until now! She was able to fit Senior Art in her schedule this year; and she is very glad she did! Grace is not afraid of taking on a challenge and loves trying new techniques. So far all of the subject matter for her work has been personal and not a copy from the internet! She wants to learn and grow as much as she can this semester, and it's very admirable to see a student with this attitude who has not taken an art class until now. She uses her class time very well each day, and it is clear she is motivated to do her best. Outside of class, Grace loves to run, and has been on the cross country and track team since her freshman year. She hopes to someday run a full marathon! One of her favorite books is Graceling by Kristin Cashore. After high school, Grace plans to attend FVTC to become a dental hygienist. Great work Grace, we're all very proud of you in the art department!
Cheyenne Klitzke Grade 12
Cheyenne is currently doing an Independent Study in Advanced Watercolor Painting. She has strong technical skills and a great eye for color and composition. In addition to art, Chy loves music- both as a musician, playing percussion in the KHS Band and as a connoisseur. She enjoys a wide range of musical genres (all, except Country), but Alternative and K-Pop are her favorites! Chy has a fun fashion sense and regularly sports crazy jackets and old sweaters.
Chy's goals in art are to build upon her watercolor skills and learn as many new techniques as possible. She would also like to branch out into other art mediums and learn new things that she has not focused on yet.

September ARTISTS
Kendra Littrell Grade 12
Kendra was selected by Mr. Greeninger as his September Artist of the Month. Kendra is currently enrolled in Mr. Greeninger's 3D Art class and is currently working on her hand-built coil tea pot. Kendra has exhibited an outstanding work ethic, sense of pride on her tea pot, and an advance skill level so far in the Ceramic Unit. Kendra has also mastered the technique of throwing on the pottery wheel. Kendra is one of those students who will focus in on her work and make sure things are done right. Her craftsmanship is head and shoulders above the average student!
Kendra has also been in Choir the past four years at Kimberly High School. She enjoys singing and hanging out with her friends. Kendra currently works at a daycare and is working towards becoming a lead teacher. The Art Department is very proud of Kendra and wishes her best of luck in the future. Congrats Kendra! Paul Reimer Grade 11
Paul was selected by Mrs. Schaefer as September artist of the month. Paul has a great work ethic, and also is very creative and isn't afraid of taking risks when making his art. I have had Paul in class in the past, and I've noticed that Paul incorporates his own style and finds a way to make is pieces unique and different from the images he works from. Many students take years to develop their own style, and this is something that has come very naturally to Paul. Many of his works use intense color, thick textures, and bold edges.
Paul loves art, and drawing is among one of his favorite hobbies. He also loves camping and fishing. Paul hopes to go to college and be able to make a good living to support himself in the future. Keep up the great work! All three of the art instructors have had Paul in class, and we are all very proud of his accomplishments and work ethic!
Maria Anholzer Grade 12
Maria is currently a member of both Mrs. Wise's Watercolor Painting and Senior Art classes. She has also studied A.P. Art History, 2D Art, Oil Painting, and more during her years at KHS. She has been chosen as a September Artist of the Month because of her dedication to developing herself as an artist. Maria has enjoyed Art since she was young. She considers Art to be "an easier way to express" herself. She plans to attend college and prepare for a future career in Art Education. Maria is interested in all forms of art, but she especially enjoys painting, drawing, and photography.
Outside of school, Maria enjoys snow boarding, four wheeling, playing the piano, and planning social events with her friends.
