Hong Kong Student Association of Neuroscience (HKSAN) - Student Neuroscience Conference


HKSAN was founded by a group of senior medical students from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and the University of Hong Kong (HKU) in 2020. Realising the increasing popularity of neuroscience and the importance of neurological and psychological health, we aim to connect and inspire Hong Kong students for the advancement and popularisation of neuroscience. APNSC-HKSAN 2021 is the keynote event of HKSAN. The conference aims to nurture an interest in neuroscience amongst our future generation of scientists, engineers, and doctors by exposing delegates to the latest research and development in multiple disciplines under neuroscience. Delegates are primarily undergraduate students, coming from various life sciences, medical and allied health fields.

The Pre-Conference Events: Education Day and Satellite Symposia are virtual events designed specifically for secondary school students, serving as an introduction to basic neuroscience knowledge through 3 mini lectures and various other talks.

Student Surgical Association of Hong Kong (SSAHK) - Surgical Taster Day 2021


The Student Surgical Association of Hong Kong (SSAHK) is a society established in 2014, jointly run by medical students from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and University of Hong Kong. Since its establishment, the society has been funded by the College of Surgeons of Hong Kong (CSHK) and has registered with the International Association of Student Surgical Societies (IASSS). 


The Surgical Taster Day 2021 is an annual two-day event designed for local S4-6 (or equivalent) secondary school students looking to pursue further studies in medicine. It has been a widely anticipated key event of SSAHK and we are looking to recruit a fresh batch of participants for our 7th year of hosting the event. The programme aims to provide participants with early exposure to the medical school life in Hong Kong and the field of surgery through interactions with medical students and surgeons.


Highlights of the programme include the Suturing Workshop, Mock “Problem-based Learning (PBL)” tutorial, Histology and Clinical Skills workshop, Surgeon sharings and many more. A certificate of participation will be awarded upon completion of the whole event.
