Direct Descriptive Observation Tools

Direct observation tools are used to observe behaviors in any school setting in and effort to further, define behavior, and identify events correlated to the problem behavior. This type of observation helps to identify the prevalence of events that come before and after the targeted behavior. (Hanley, 2012)
