After a referral has been made to the Behavior Intervention Team a Behavior Case Manager will be added to the team. If there is a high number of referrals students may be placed on a waitlist. The School Psychologist and a school site administrator will fill out the Behavior Intervention Team Referral form and send it to the Behavior Intervention Specialist, along with the required documents. A Behavior Case Manager will be will assigned to provide team implementation planning, assist with revisions to the current BIP, create materials, review collected data, provide direct student support, provide modeling for staff members and arrange for ongoing team collaboration meetings.
The Behavior Team can provide a variety of services to KCUSD staff and families. These services include but are not limited to:
Behavioral consult with staff
Assistance with data collection procedures for an already existing behavior plan.
Functional Behavior Assessment for students who are not responding to previous interviews.
Assist a student with skill acquisition programming (social skills, behaviors affecting academics, communication, etc.)
